How do I use the donor egg bank?
Important: This feature is currently only available to Care Fertility patients.
To view Care's list of available egg donors, in the mobile app go to 三 > Donor egg bank.
Navigating the donor egg bank
Once you’re in the donor egg bank you’ll be able to see donors' information, including:
- Donor number
- Ethnicity
- Hair colour
- Eye colour
- Skin tone
- Height
- Weight
- BMI
- If they have had children
- Available ‘set’ number of eggs i.e. standard and/or large
A key on the different donor characteristics can be viewed by tapping on the ℹ️ icon in the top banner.
Tapping on a donor card will take you through to the donor summary screen.
If you have not been activated as an egg recipient by Care but are interested in learning more about a donor, please contact your clinic directly stating donor number in your enquiry.
Filtering your search
You will be able to filter your search by tapping on the Filter icon at the top of the screen and applying your desired filters from the list of filter categories:
ℹ️ Please note that filters are cumulative. For example, if you apply ‘black hair’ and ‘green eyes’ only the donors with black hair AND green eyes will appear, rather than any donor with black hair OR green eyes.
Submitting interest
If you have been activated as an egg recipient by Care, you may be able to register your interest in the donor by tapping on the Submit interest button.
The clinic will receive notification of this and begin processing your request.
Accepting or rejecting a donor
Once the clinic has processed your request, and if you have enabled push notifications for the app, you will receive a notification stating that you can now accept or reject the donor.
When you navigate back to the donor egg bank, you will see the donor summary along with accept and reject buttons.
Tapping on Reject will take you back to the list of available donors so that you can resume your search. Your clinic will be notified of this rejection.
Tapping on Accept will take you to the donor accepted screen, where you will be informed of what next steps need to be made to secure your donated eggs. Your clinic will be notified of your acceptance.
Matched
After tapping on Accept, you will be prompted to pay the reservation fee for the donated eggs and sign the Donor Egg Match Form.
Once these have been completed, you will have officially matched with your egg donor!
