How to allow access to your microphone and camera

Salve needs access to your microphone, camera and files & photos to enable various features, such as video calls. Please see below for how to check and amend access status.

iOS

The Salve app will automatically request permission to access your microphone, camera or files & folders when using a relevant Salve feature for the first time. Should you wish to amend these permissions, you can complete the following steps:

  1. Open your phone's settings app
    1. Go to Privacy > Microphone
    2. Go to Privacy > Camera
    3. Go to Privacy > Files & Folders

Please be aware, Salve will only appear in these menus after you have tried to use a relevant Salve feature (i.e. video calling) for the first time and the Salve app has requested access.

Android

All Android devices are a little different, so the below instructions may not be exact for your phone but please do use them as a guide.

  1. Open your phone’s settings app
  2. Go to Apps & notifications > App info > Salve > Permissions
  3. Ensure Camera, Files and media and Microphone are in the Allowed section:
  4. If they’re in the Denied section, tap on each section and choose Allow only while using the app:
